Regulations relating to minimum teaching hours per school week and school day in public schools in the Western Cape

The Western Cape Education Minister of Education issued these regulations in terms of the Western Cape Provincial School Education Act, 1997, and the National Curriculum Statement, 2011. The regulations provide minimum teaching hours per subject, general principles applied when calculating minimum school hours per week and school day; and guidelines on individual support plans, and layered implementation over time.
