The Western Cape Education Department ePortal website respects your privacy.

Some anonymous information about you is automatically collected by the website. This information may include: your browser type, access times, referring web site addresses and viewed pages. This information is collected to generate general aggregate statistics about the use of the ePortal website and is used to improve our service.

The WCED collects the following Personal Information on registration with the e-Portal Website:

  • the name, surname and email address of Users or Content Providers;
  • the school, grade and subject, where relevant, of Users.

In accessing and using the e-Portal Website, Users and Content Providers consent to the use of Personal Information, where relevant, for the following purposes:

  • the efficient functioning of the e-Portal Website and its offered services;
  • disclosure of Personal Information in response to a specific request by a law enforcement agency, a subpoena, a court order, or as required by law; and
  • any other purpose specified in the Terms of Use read together with this Policy.
