"Programming isn't about what you know; it's about what you can figure out.” ~ Chris Pine
The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has compiled a Digital Skills Curriculum for Grades R to 9, consisting of several critical variables, including Application Skills, Internet and e-Communication Skills, Data and Information Management Skills, Computational Thinking Skills and Coding. Coding is essentially written instructions that a robot or computer program can read and execute. Experts call these skills the “new literacy”, a language every child needs to know to excel in our rapidly changing world.
