The combination of any two or more individual components is referred to as an assembly. All multi-component devices are made up of individually designed parts that fit together to form a functional unit. An assembly drawing shows how communicate exactly and unambiguously the shape, size and position, of every feature of a product to everyone, from the manufacturer down the assembly line to the consumer.
