Driven by its mission and vision, the Department is on a mission to respond to the call of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2030 Chapter 9, which is central to developing education, training, and innovative improvement. The Learning Recovery Programme aims to respond to a call that says, “By 2030, South Africans should have access to education and training of the highest quality, leading to significantly improved learning outcomes. The performance of South African learners in international standardized tests should be comparable to the performance of learners from countries at a similar level of development and with similar levels of access.”
