The International Space Station Program Science Office

The International Space Station (ISS) is a low Earth orbiting laboratory. It orbits once every 90 minutes and passes over 90 percent of the Earth’s habitable land mass. The ISS is a scientific research platform in human habitation beyond low Earth orbit to deep space destinations. It houses a crew of six. Fifteen countries collaborated to assembly it. During the past 16 years, more than 1900 unique experiments have been conducted. This e-book describes the ISS research facilities. Reading it will encourage the youth to pursue careers in maths, science and engineering and that will enable them to be our future leaders and space explorers.
