WCED Tips for Parents

The WCED’s Tips for Parents site includes a guide for parents of Grade 1 learners. The guide provides brief descriptions of the Grade 1 curriculum for Mathematics and Language in Grade 1, and advice on what parents can do to help their children to develop skills in Mathematics and Language at home. The site include leaflets on how to build reading, writing and mathematics skills at home, and reading lists for holiday and leisure-time reading. The page include links to online videos that provide advice to teachers and parents on approaches to building skills in language use and mathematics. The site also provides links to online games and activities to help reinforce children’s language and mathematics skills.
