Ashleigh Taljaard is a grade two teacher at Van Reede Primary School in Oudtshoorn. She has been teaching for 9 years. She is passionate about reading and language. She believes that every child should experience and enjoy the adventure of reading a book. In addition to being the 2021 NTA winner for Excellence in Primary School Teaching, she is also a resource creator for the WCED for English Home Language. She has been a speaker on numerous platforms, including ITV, where she shared her passion for reading and her experience in the classroom. She is currently art of the writing team for Home Language at DBE. Her expertise lies in teaching Phonics, Reading and Writing. |
