About Fransonette Swart
Fransonette Swart, hailing from Paarl, La Rochelle, began her educational journey with a successful matriculation. She pursued her passion for teaching at Paarl Teachers College, where she earned a three-year teacher's diploma. Building on this foundation, she completed a fourth-year Higher Diploma in Education, specializing in Art in Mowbray, Cape Town. She furthered her academic pursuits with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Stellenbosch and achieved a History of Art III qualification through Unisa.
Fransonette’ s teaching career commenced as an art teacher at Springbok Primary School, where she nurtured young artistic talents. She continued to expand her teaching experience as a part-time instructor at Tygerberg Art Centre, Parow, eventually becoming its principal in 1997, a role she still holds today.
Her teaching expertise spans various subjects, including Creative Arts for the General Education and Training (GET) phase, Design (Jewelry), and Visual Arts (Painting and Photography) for Grades 10-12.
Fransonette’ s personal artistic focus lies in photography, painting, and drawing. Beyond her classroom commitments, she has been an adjudicator for the Tygerberg Eisteddfod for the past 18 years, nurturing young talents in the arts.
In addition to her educational endeavors, Fransonette is an active member of the Tafelberg Photography Club for eight years and has completed a judging course through the Photographic Society of South Africa. Her dedication to education and the arts makes her a respected figure in both domains.
