About Anina Lundie
Anina Lundie studied at the University of Stellenbosch and at Trinity College London, where she obtained an Honours degree in Drama and a Licentiate in Drama Teaching. After her studies, she lectured Vocal Interpretation in a part-time position at Stellenbosch University Drama Department. She then taught Drama at various primary and high schools in the Cape Peninsula. She later lectured in Voice, Speech & Communication and Theatre Studies at the former Bellville College of Education.
Since 2002, Anina has been employed as a curriculum advisor and examiner for Speech and Drama, and later as the National Senior Certificate Chief Examiner for Dramatic Arts. Since 2009, she has worked in the Western Cape Education Department as Senior Curriculum Planner for Creative Arts, responsible for curriculum development and support in Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Arts from Grades 4 to 9 in the Western Cape.
She has also served as an adjudicator at major arts festivals, including as a member of the Kanna Awards panel at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK) in Oudtshoorn and at the Aardklop Festival in Potchefstroom.
Anina’s priorities in arts education focus on improving access to high-quality arts education for all learners by strengthening teaching and learning in the arts subjects within the GET band; providing opportunities to develop skills and knowledge required for employment and economic participation in the arts sector; fostering awareness of the arts across diverse cultures; developing arts literacy and appreciation; and cultivating future audiences and consumers of the arts.
