About Dr. Nico Venter:
Dr Nico Venter is the Principal of Outeniqua Primary School in George and brings over 25 years of experience in education. He studied at Wellington Teachers’ College, UNISA, and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where he completed his doctoral degree in 2013. His PhD focused on Parental involvement in learning at rural multigrade schools in South Africa: A school, community and family partnership programme.
A passionate educational leader, Dr Venter is committed to enhancing teaching and learning through effective pedagogy, meaningful parental involvement by drawing on the professional capital of parents, the strategic use of technology, and the development of a growth mindset in both teachers and learners. He strongly believes in cultivating a unique school culture and identity as a foundation for educational success. He is married to a Grade R teacher, and together they are the proud parents of 17-year-old twins and a 12-year-old son.
