Biography of Mr. Jaco van Niekerk

About Mr. Jaco van Niekerk:

Jaco van Niekerk matriculated from Parel Vallei in 2004 and graduated with a BA in Socio Informatics from Stellenbosch University in 2007, followed by a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in 2008. He started his teaching career at Worcester Gymnasium in 2009 as an English teacher for grades 8 - 12. After completing the short course Strategic Implementation of ICT Integration in Education in 2016, Jaco quickly advanced in the field of EdTech, becoming a Certified Google Educator, certified Microsoft Educator along with multiple other EdTech tool certification.

Recognition for his work as a facilitator in ICT Integration in the district, he was appointed as an eLearning Advisor in Cape Winelands Education District in 2019 before being seconded as Deputy Chief Education Specialist at eLearning Head Office in the portfolio of Professional Development in 2022.
