Biography of Dr. Ismail Teladia

About Dr. Ismail Teladia:

Teacher at Spine Road High School for 30 years. National Teacher Award (DBE) recipient in 2012 in category “Excellence in High School Teaching” (best high school teacher in the country). Taught Life Orientation and Life Science. Passionate about teaching and creating opportunities for his learners and teachers. Subject Advisor in Metro South Education District before being appointed to the post of Senior Curriculum Planner: Life Orientation in WCED. Activated the Online Safety Curriculum with Google for introduction into the Life Orientation Curriculum. Responsible for managing the implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in the province as well as Physical Education both at provincial and national level. Champion for the support of learners who are differently sexually orientated in the provincial education department. Currently driving the flagship programme for the WCED on behalf of the Western Cape Government Growth for Jobs Strategy. He has launched the Career Clubs programme to high schools across the province.

President of the South African Universities Physical Education Association (SAUPEA). Serve on the Advisory Board of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) Faculty of Sports Science President of the Western Cape Volleyball Association (WCVA).
