West Coast National Park: A birder's paradise
The West Coast National Park is a bird-lover’s paradise, with 250 bird species and a large concentration of migratory birds. The park has a number of cottages and self-catering chalets, ranging in size and location. There are herds of gemsbok, zebra and bontebok. Potsberg is the prime flower- and game-viewing location. At Kraalbaai there is house-boat accommodation available. The Langebaan Lagoon is popular amongst water sport enthusiasts. It is known for kitesurfing, waterskiing, kayaking, snorkeling, boating and fishing. The Geelbek Visitor’s Centre offers information about the park’s fauna, flora and cultural history. From the Seeberg Viewing Point Table Mountain, Cederberg Mountains and the Langebaan Lagoon can be seen. Mountain biking starts at the Langebaan gate and takes a 30km round trip to Geelbek and back.
