Biography of Mr. Luzaan Fillis

About Mr. Luzaan Fillis:

Luzaan Jade Fillis is currently serving as the Senior Education Specialist: Language Subject Advisor for English in the West Coast Education District. He began his teaching career in 2014 as a primary school educator in the Intermediate and Senior Phase, focusing on English First Additional Language in a rural school setting. His leadership journey in education saw him promoted to Departmental Head, where he managed the Intersen Phase, followed by an acting Deputy Principal role before taking up his current advisory position. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to professional growth and lifelong learning.

Luzaan holds a Bachelor of Education degree (B.Ed), an Honours degree (B.Ed Hons) in Language Education with a focus on curriculum studies and assessment, and is currently completing a Master’s in Education (M. Ed), specialising in Language Education and Literacy Studies. Driven by a passion for teaching, learning, and cultural diversity, he is especially dedicated to the development and support of novice teachers. His work emphasises mentorship, collaboration, and empowerment within the education sector, and he believes strongly in shaping responsible and impactful future citizens.
