About Meryl Glaser

Meryl Glaser is the Programme Director at RED INK. She started her career as a speech and language therapist, also trained as an audiologist, and Foundation Phase teacher. She completed her master’s in human communication with Deaf people and her professional interest was in the development in South African Sign Language on digital platforms, Deaf education and adult education.

Her experience in early learning and teaching focuses on language development and overlaps seamlessly with the development of early Mathematics. Meryl also has extensive early Maths course and programme development experience, including the UCT/SDU Grade R Mathematics Programme (R-Maths), the Bala Wande Grade R Programme, the DBE Integrated Grade R Teacher Guides and the RED INK MathsUp mobile application.

She has led the implementation of large-scale Grade R Home Language and Maths professional teacher development instructional programmes in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, North West, Northern Cape and Mpumalanga provinces.
