About Chelcy April

Chelcy April is a Grade 1 teacher at Floreat Primary School in Steenberg. She has been teaching for 4 years.

She enjoys teaching and engaging with her students. She believes that organization and teaching go hand in hand and plays an important role in her teaching environment.

She has realized the importance and necessity of reading and so mustered the courage to do her honours in Language and Literacy Studies at UWC. She has an Instagram page called Buttercup Educational Resources where she shares her teaching experiences and the resources she has created.

She was a member of the provincial PLC team for Grade 1 where she spoke about informal assessment and how it enhances learning.
